What happens when you convert from

 

Wages to Full-time Classified (1.0 FTE)

Pay

You are paid 24 time a year

Divide your current salary by your old part-time FTE for conversion into same job.  For conversion into a different job, salary is negotiable.

 

Leave

Annual Leave

·         Earn 4 hours per pay period

·         Accrual rate increases with years of service

·         Unused balance paid out at separation, up to maximum limits

 

VSDP Sick Leave and Family/Personal Leave

·         Awarded 64 hours (8 days) of sick and 32 hours (4 days) of family/personal on January 10th each year

·         No pay out at separation

 

Benefits

Health Insurance Premiums

·         Choice of two plans for full-time employees and their dependents, COVA Care and Kaiser Permanente.

·         Employee, Employee + One, Family Coverage

·         Premiums are shared between the employee and the University, and are payroll-deducted on a pre-tax basis.

 

Virginia Retirement System (VRS)

 

·         The University makes the entire contribution to the retirement plan.

·         VRS is a defined benefit plan with vesting at five years of service.

 

Life Insurance

·         VRS provides life insurance through Minnesota Life

·         The State pays the entire premium.

·         The basic benefit is two times annual salary.

·         There is also an accidental death and dismemberment provision of four times annual salary.
