Description:

Bicycling to campus can be fun and great for your well-being. Research indicates that among people who commute to work, those who bike are the happiest with their commute. So you may be thinking, I want to start riding my bike to campus but don’t feel comfortable yet. You might not be sure what type of bike to use, what to wear, or how to get to campus.

Join Rick Holt, Senior Trainer/Consultant in HR & Payroll, member of Active Prince William and League of American Bicyclists certified instructor, and Dr. Bethany Usher, Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education and a part-time bike commuter, for Bicycle Commuting 101. During this session, Bethany and Rick will share information to help you feel more confident about getting to campus on two wheels. The session will cover basic bicycling information such as bicycle selection, fit, inspection, gearing, cadence, clothing, accessories, and routes to campus. Mason Transportation will also share information about bike resources and the Mason faculty/staff bike commuter program during the session.
