Is this bonus based on performance?
Employees are eligible to receive the bonus payment only if they have attained an equivalent rating of at least “Contributor*” on their most recent performance evaluation and have no active written notices under the Standards of Conduct within the preceding 12-month period (November 10, 2021 through November 10, 2022). *Must be “Developing/Fair” or higher
Eligibility will be determined by performance evaluations that were conducted in the fall of 2022 for the performance cycle (Classified cycle - October 25, 2021 through October 24, 2022, Faculty cycle – July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022). If ratings for this cycle are unavailable, the most recent performance evaluation will be used. Units are responsible for ensuring that sufficient documentation exists to support or deny satisfactory performance assessments for employees. This documentation could include the annual performance evaluation, interim evaluation, probationary progress review forms, notice of sub-standard performance forms, and active written notices issued.
NOTE: Units shall certify to HR & Payroll that faculty (both instructional/research and administrative/professional faculty) receiving the bonus have at least a satisfactory evaluation rating. HR & Payroll will provide each unit with instructions on how to provide this information.
Evals need to be submitted by November 18 in order to ensure that their bonuses can be paid by December 1 (November 25 for biweekly). Delays in receiving evaluations and/or ratings may delay payout of the bonus.
What if an employee does not have a performance evaluation?
HR & Payroll will be sending out a list of individuals who do not have a completed performance evaluation for those hired on or before August 10, 2022 to the unit HR Liaison.
The HR Liaisons will need to complete the list by providing an evaluation rating and units may be requested to submit additional supporting documentation at a later date.
If HR Liaisons do not receive a list, then they do not have any missing evaluation ratings for their unit.
