
Faculty-Staff Enrichment Day: Call for Workshop Proposals

Human Resources’ Organizational Development and Learning (ODL) Team is excited to announce the upcoming Faculty-Staff Enrichment Day. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 25! This year's theme, "Mapping Your Future: Discovering Mason’s Treasure," will guide the day’s learning.

📍 Where: The Johnson Center (Fairfax)
This in-person event aims to provide an opportunity for personal and professional growth by exploring new paths, unlocking potential, and discovering hidden treasures within ourselves and our work. To make this event a success, we are seeking innovative and engaging workshop proposals from our talented faculty and staff members.
Proposals should align with the overarching theme of "Mapping Your Future: Discovering Mason’s Treasure" and should address one or more of the following sub-themes (further details in the workshop objectives section below):
- Charting Your Path: Helping participants navigate their personal and professional journeys by providing tools and strategies for goal setting, career planning, and overcoming challenges.
- Uncovering Hidden Talents: Assisting participants in identifying and unleashing their untapped talents, strengths, and passions to enhance their effectiveness and satisfaction in their roles.
- Exploring New Horizons: Introducing participants to new ideas, trends, and technologies relevant to their areas of expertise, encouraging curiosity and continuous learning.
- Cultivating Well-Being: Focusing on techniques and practices that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, helping participants find balance and resilience in their lives.
We invite you to submit proposals that reflect your expertise, experience, and creativity. Each proposal must include the following details: title, presenter(s), session description and objectives, target audience, format, duration, and any audio-visual requirements.
The selection committee will review all submissions and notify selected presenters by Friday, September 1. Please note that workshop proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to the theme, clarity of objectives, interactive and engaging elements, and their potential to contribute to the personal and professional growth of the participants.

Note: These workshop objectives align with the university's strategic goals of strengthening existing offices and programs to reinforce the values-based culture and increasing staff development and upskilling opportunities. The workshops will not only provide personal and professional growth opportunities but also contribute to creating awareness, communication, training, and a supportive environment that reflects the university's values.
