Ashley doesn’t wait for alignment — she creates it.
As a Senior Communication Specialist in Human Resources, she works shoulder to shoulder with George Mason’s centers of excellence to figure out how stories should be told, then makes sure they actually land. The work is equal parts strategy and execution: brand clarity, narrative building, coordination across teams, and the kind of collaboration that only works when trust is real and thinking is fast.
She stepped back into the role in October 2025, returning to a position she knows well within a community that’s long shaped her work. If the comms team is moving pieces on the board, Ashley is often thinking a few steps ahead of where the work needs to go.
Lately, that’s meant leading creative direction and messaging for the Faculty and Staff Experience Survey campaign, a project that blends digital storytelling with physical touchpoints across campus. It’s the kind of work that rewards curiosity and decisiveness — two things Ashley brings in abundance.
This isn’t her first chapter at Mason. From 2017 to 2023, she held nearly the same role before heading to the University of California, Santa Cruz. But returning to Mason wasn’t about nostalgia, it was about continuity; continuing work that matters, in a place that does too.
Ashley’s path has made her good at adapting, not settling. After growing up as a military kid and later traveling extensively as an adult, George Mason is the place that’s felt most steady and familiar.
Off the Clock, Still Curious
Ashley’s life outside work mirrors her mindset inside it: constantly learning, always in motion. She travels whenever she can, dives deep into history, seeks out new cultures, fine-tunes her tennis game, studies French, and spends time with her cat, Bella.
