In Good Company with Remy Franklin
Remy believes work goes better when the information is clear and the music is good.
She joined George Mason in October 2025 as a Principal Benefits Analyst, where she focuses on turning complex benefits into something people can actually understand and use. That work currently includes implementing Secure 2.0 Section 603, preparing for the upcoming Pre-Retirement Seminar, and supporting the Benefits team as they help faculty and staff navigate decisions that don’t come with an instruction manual.
Benefits wasn’t part of the original plan. "I fell into Benefits in 2011 while visiting a job fair in Los Angeles, CA. Before then, I had no idea this type of position even existed. I’ve since fallen in love with helping people understand their benefits which is something we all need."
George Mason feels like the right place for that kind of work.
The sense of community is real, the HR team has leaned into accessibility, and Remy is excited about what’s coming next. First Fridays didn’t hurt either. Neither did discovering that Southside Dining Hall has a discounted lunch that’s actually good.
After Hours: Music, Movement, and Mom Chats
Outside of work, Remy gravitates toward the moments that aren’t staged. She shoots concert, event, and lifestyle photography, unwinds by building carefully curated playlists, and swears by Zumba as a reset button. Gossiping with her mom remains undefeated.
If She Had a Superpower…
"I would instantly master the ability to conquer DIY projects. Building a table on a whim would come in handy."
She lives by advice from her dad: “You can’t always have a good day, so be good to your days.”
Remy keeps things organized without killing the fun. She's endlessly curious about how people work, always hunting for smarter ways to get things done and will happily swap anything from playlists to restaurant secrets, sometimes all in one conversation.
Talk to Remy for five minutes and you'll leave with a plan, a playlist, and a smile.
