June 2024 Salary Increases

Effective June 10, 2024, Mason will be implementing pay increases utilizing an increase in funding allocation approved by the Commonwealth. The funds support the following increases:

Classified staff hired on or before March 10, 2024, with a performance rating of developing or higher will receive a 3% across-the-board base salary increase.

Instructional/Research (I/R) and Administrative/Professional (A/P) faculty hired on or before March 10, 2024, with a performance rating of developing or higher will receive a 1.5% across-the-board base salary increase, and may also receive a:

    • Performance-based increase determined by their unit leadership in accordance with the university’s pay-for-performance goals; and/or
    • Increase to continue alignment with market compensation.

Any salary increase will be seen in July 1* paychecks for 12-month faculty and classified staff paid semi-monthly and September 16 paychecks for 9-month faculty. The salary adjustment will become part of your base salary.


For ease of access, security, and sustainability purposes, we are utilizing Patriot Web to convey new salary information. Instructions for Viewing Your Salary History are available under Employee Services in Patriot Web.

You may print a copy of your salary information for your records if you choose. Please note that the increase will not be reflected in your salary information in Patriot Web until the increase goes into effect on June 10 or August 25.
