Policy 2202 Updates: Student Wage
Human Resources is providing an important update regarding Policy 2202: Flexible Work to ensure continuity in student employment practices and allowing adequate time for campus units to prepare for upcoming changes.
Implementation of, and compliance with, the 2025 Policy 2202 update, which included the addition of student wage employees, has been extended until the beginning of the 2026–27 academic year. This extension reflects feedback received from campus partners and allows additional time to refine policy language and supporting procedures.
For the 2025–26 academic year, departments should continue using the student wage contracts that were in place prior to the September 2025 policy update. This temporary approach ensures stability for students and hiring units for the remainder of this academic year.
During the Spring 2026 semester, Human Resources will continue to refine the Flexible Work policy and procedures. Further guidance will be provided in advance of the 2026-27 academic year hiring of student wage employees.
