A representative from Talent Acquisition will acknowledge receipt of your Temporary Request Form by email. You may also receive a telephone call to clarify any of the information on the form.

We maintain a pool of qualified administrative applicants who are available to start work in less than a week. However, if your needs are more specialized it may take up to two or three weeks to recruit the appropriate candidate.

In addition to the employee’s hourly rate of pay and fringe you will be charged a nominal markup fee.

We conduct video conference interviews with all applicants before they are referred to a hiring manager.

We conduct criminal background checks on all temporary applicants who are hired.

A temporary employee may work for the University up to 1450 hours between the dates of May 1 and April 30. A Talent Acquisition Specialist can advise you if your temporary employee or applicant has already worked some of those hours in another department.

Yes you may. Those requests also go through Talent Acquisition and can be requested by emailing jobs@gmu.edu.

Yes. Please email jobs@gmu.edu, include the resume of the external candidate and request inclusion of the candidate in the Mason Talent Temp program. You should also complete the Temporary Staff Request Form in conjunction with the request.
Talent Acquisition will contact your candidate, walk them through the process and complete all of the new hire onboarding, including reference checks and a criminal background check as a free service to your department. For this request, we will not conduct a video conference interview.

Yes, you can hire a former Mason employee as long as they have left the University in good standing and had a break in service of at least 26 weeks. We will work with you to confirm the candidate’s eligibility.

Yes and Yes. Mason IDs will be provided to the Mason Temp prior to reporting to their assignment.
