Laurel is a strategic communications leader, relationship builder, storyteller and trained yoga instructor. She is committed to supporting her own and others’ well-being. As a healthcare communications leader, she is interested in behavior change and motivation. Her experience becoming a leader and her study of positive psychology sparked her interest in becoming a leadership coach. Having completed George Mason’s Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-Being certificate program, Laurel is looking forward to helping leaders navigate aspirations, goals, changes and challenges with a bit more ease.
Coaching Approach and Style
Laurel coaches much like she leads yoga classes—inviting clients to get curious about behaviors, thoughts and sensations. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space, listens deeply and offers reflection to facilitate clarity and understanding. Through support and gentle challenge, she partners with her clients on their journeys through insight and change.
Laurel has over 25 years of experience helping nonprofits and health care organizations with communications and marketing. She advises and coaches executives on internal and external communications strategy and message planning. She is a skilled leader, coach and mentor to her direct reports and colleagues, as well as through her volunteer activities as a mentor to students from elementary school through college.
