Stephanie Barnett, ACC
Stephanie’s professional career has primarily involved work in higher education settings supporting students, faculty, and staff. She has held roles in program and student support at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, degree compliance, and training and development. Stephanie’s journey to the world of professional coaching was born from a desire to develop the skills to support people beyond the academic experience. Through the completion of an ICF-accredited coach training program, and subsequent training and experiences, Stephanie is excited to bring her coaching to George Mason’s Workplace Coaching program and supporting employee personal development.
Coaching Approach and Style
Stephanie’s coaching approach is rooted in a place of understanding, empathy, and curiosity. Her coaching philosophy, "Change is Personal", is central to the way she works with clients. With a focus in energy leadership, Stephanie works with clients to support them in understanding where they are, clarifying where they want to go, and supporting them in creating a path forward.

Education
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs from George Mason University in 2007. In addition to formal classroom experiences, Stephanie has also pursued non-traditional educational experiences to inform her personal and professional development. In 2018, she completed a 17-day wilderness expedition with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) centered on developing and refining individual and team leadership skills through outdoor experiences.
