Department of Education Training Opportunity: Discrimination on the Basis of Shared Ancestry

🗓️   Wednesday, April 10 at 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

📍   Virtual (Microsoft Teams)

You are invited to a virtual training opportunity hosted by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (“OCR”) on Wednesday, April 10 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

OCR is the federal agency tasked with enforcing several Federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination in programs or activities at institutions that receive federal funding from the Department of Education.

OCR has offered to provide this training to institutions interested in learning more about how the Department of Education is responding to discrimination on the basis of Shared Ancestry, including Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

At this training, OCR Attorneys will present on how institutions can support their communities with respect to non-discrimination, specifically in regards to topics such as Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. This training is geared towards all faculty and staff and will provide guidance on cultivating a more inclusive environment in the face of current world events. OCR Attorneys plan to provide a presentation and then allow for questions at the end of the session.

No need to register for the event; use the Teams link to log in to the training!
