Faculty and Staff Experience Survey Launches April 3!
The Faculty and Staff Experience Survey (FSE) launches on Wednesday, April 3!
Mason has contracted with Gallup to serve as our third-party survey vendor. Gallup’s employee engagement science and history researching the topic are unmatched. They have been studying employee engagement (including the best way to measure it) and performance for over 75 years.
All of Mason's employees, at each campus location, are invited to participate in the survey, including our colleagues in Mason Korea. This includes I/R faculty, adjunct faculty, classified staff, A/P faculty, wage employees, and student and graduate student employees.
In partnership with Faculty Senate, the Faculty Evaluation of Administrators (FEA) will be launched with the FSE survey this year. After completing the FSE questions, I/R faculty will advance to the FEA portion of the assessment.
Below are highlights of how the 2022 survey results were utilized to promote positive change at Mason.
- Faculty and Staff Success is a focus of the 2023 Strategic Direction, including areas such as reward and recognition, performance evaluation, and increased staff development.
- Many colleges and business units created action plans from the 2022 Gallup survey results and worked to incorporate engagement strategies based on individual/team/unit results.
- Human Resources facilitated many new training programs to support supervisor and team dynamics, focusing on topics such as performance management, employee engagement, and culture of inclusion.
